Road Trip

We took a road trip over the weekend to Knoxville to see the family. Because Daddy has been traveling a lot for work and Mommy and Daddy were both sick early this year, we haven’t been to Knoxville since Christmas. We got to see the whole family this trip…even Uncle Rich, who is usually working. We were very excited to see Sassy. Her health hasn’t been so good lately, but she was happy to see us. She is almost 12, and she’s still got a little spunk left. Check her out running through the yard…

BELATED BIRTHDAY

Since we didn’t make it back to Knoxville in January, we missed a very important day – Cousin Sam’s 1st birthday. We took him lots of presents to make up for it.

He has changed so much since we saw him at Christmas. He is walking and talking and has a few more teeth. He calls us “woof-woof”.

Here’s a funny one…Mommy snapped the picture just as Auntie Jamie made a funny face.

Auntie Jamie and Uncle Rich bought Bella this cool dress…Auntie Jamie said it was a punk rock dress to match her wild and crazy hair.

We even had some excitement on the way home. We had just passed the Georgia state line when a car with pretty blue lights came up behind us. Daddy pulled over, and we got to meet an officer from Catoosa County, GA. The officer thought we were funny because we were shaking, and he said we reminded him of those goats that faint when they are scared. The officer must have really liked Daddy because he gave him a present. For some reason Daddy wasn’t happy about the present. I’m not sure why…I love presents!

Hi Maddux & Bella,

It just isn't as much fun this weekend as it was last weekend when you were here for a visit but having these special pictures & videos makes it so nice to remember having you here. All of us here in Knoxville were so excited knowing you were coming, we so enjoyed seeing you & we're counting down the weeks until your next visit!

Maddux, you are so handsome & sweet & Bella, you are so delightful & pretty & you looked just precious in the new dress your Auntie Jamie gave you!

Thank you for coming to visit your cousin Sam & for all the wonderful birthday presents! He has already had lots of fun playing with all the new toys, & I'm sure he'll look super cute in the neat new outfits.

Speaking of presents, I'm very sorry about the one given to your Dad on the way home. We hope another one of those is never received again!

Well, the sun is finally coming out here so I guess I will go outside & get some exercise.

Have a fun weekend!

Love, Nana
