All Grown Up

It is official! I’m no longer a puppy…I’ve made it to Big Girl status!

Turning 1 is a huge milestone in a girl’s life. Mommy and Daddy say, now that I’m a big girl, I should have out grown all the bad puppy habits like chewing on things (door frames, sheet rock, my brother), going potty where I’m not supposed to, and constantly harassing my big brother, Maddux. I have a different perspective…I think, as a Big Girl, it’s my prerogative to do those things if I want to. Now that I’m 1, I’m more independent and I should be making decisions for myself in order for me to grow and learn. I may, in fact, decide to nibble on the bathroom wall or jump on my brother from time to time. I say “C’est la vie!” (Did I mention that I am bilingual?)

It was definitely a great party, and Mommy dressed me in a pretty green dress. There were paw print balloons and streamers, a bone shaped dog cookie with “Happy Birthday”, and a dog food cake with a bone shaped candle.

Here's a short video of me sharing my cake with Maddux.

I even had a princess birthday hat (I’m such a star!)

My hat was so cute that Maddux wanted to get in on the action.

Plus, I got tons of presents. Mommy and Daddy got me some new outfits (although I prefer to run around in the buff), a few toys, and a great new tent. Maddux even got me some new bones to chew on, which I think was a not so subtle message for me to chew on the bones instead of him.

Take a look at Maddux keeping his eye on my presents.

Here's a video of me with all my presents. If you watch until the end, you'll see a funny blooper.

I love my old tent but it is looking a little ragged since I play with it so much. The new tent is shaped like a cat(they didn’t have dog ones), but Daddy says the ears look like mine and we can cut off the whiskers (I'll have them chewed off before he can cut them off).

Sad News...

After my party, Mommy gave me the sad news about Sassy. There's no harm in telling you my birthday wish since I know it won't come true...I wished that we could keep Sassy around a little longer. I'm sure glad I got to know her...even if it was just for a little while.

It makes me too sad to tell you any more, but you can read more in the next post from Maddux. We want Mamaw and Papaw to know that we are thinking of them, and we love them very much.

Happy 1st Birthday, Bella!!!
You looked gorgeous in your green birthday dress! I love all your presents and the party decorations! Mommy outdid herself! Too bad she let you fall off the ottoman - I hope you're OK! :)
