Bella and I got dressed up in our patriotic dress and bandana (to clarify...dress for Bella and bandana for me), and Mommy and Daddy took us to Bass Pro Shop. Did you know they allowed dog?! You have to love a place that allows dogs.
We thought we were going to be carried through out this excursion, but for some reason, we were stuck in this cart and pushed around the store. Of course, Mommy brought her camera to document the experience.

Mommy even took a video of us riding around, and if you listen closely, you'll hear Daddy call Mommy a "crazy lady with a camera". Daddy, that was not very nice!

Since we are not used to riding around in this contraption, we were a little stressed out. Plus, we had tons of strangers coming up to us and telling us how cute we were and that they loved our outfits. To relieve some stress, we were panting and Mommy caught us with our tongues out, and of course Bella is doing her signature 'rolled tongue pant' that we affectionately call 'clicking'.

After we got home, Mommy took more pictures of us in the back yard.

Bella had kind of a rough day. When we were getting in the car to come home from Bass Pro, she fell out of Mommy's arms and took a tumble into the floor board. Daddy was quick to note, if that had been him that dropped Bella, Mommy would have killed him, and Mommy was quick to note that she did not DROP Bella...she fell. Then, Bella almost got stepped on when she was running under Mommy's feet. Daddy told Bella it may be in her best interests to hide the rest of the day .
We decided to take a nap to shake off the bad vibes, and after our nap, we got to open the presents that Daddy brought us from Brussels. Here's a picture of all four of them unharmed.

Mommy has to take a picture of them before she give them to us because they don't stay "unharmed" for long. We like to break in our toys quickly and violently. We couldn't wait to get the toys out of the bag.

We managed to break two of them in within 30 minutes..the giraffe no longer has ears or eyes and the starfish has a big hole. Truth is...we would have broken in all four but Mommy put two of them out of our reach.
Thanks for the toys Daddy, and we are sorry we tear them up so quickly.

Since we are on the topic of Brussels, we wanted to show this picture of Daddy in front of 'The Atomium' in Brussels. I'm sure you are reading this thinking the same thing we were...what the heck is 'The Atomium'. Well, I looked it up on the internet and here's what I found:
The Atomium was originally built for the 1958 World Fair and since its construction it has become the symbol of Belgium. The 102-meter-tall steel and aluminum structure is meant to be a symbol of the atom concept, increased by 165 billions times! It offers a superb panoramic view of Brussels and its surroundings.

Can you believe Daddy went up in this thing? I would keep my paws firmly on the ground, but Daddy said it was a great view.

Happy Saturday Maddux & Bella!
My goodness, you had a busy July 4th! You looked adorable in your Patriotic outfits! Your Mom & Dad are very proud of you & really enjoy getting to take you places nice enough to welcome pets as special guests. Plus, lots of people get to see just how cute you two are!!
How sweet of "D" to bring you such cute toys from his trip to Brussels! I'm not sure what is left of them today. Oh well, that isn't what is important! What matters is that you had lots of fun playing with them! I'm glad he had time for some sight-seeing! Thank you for the history lesson, too! Learning is fun!
I know you are looking forward to meeting Ally. She is so cute, and I know she is love, love, loving her new home! Thank you for introducing her to the family.
Have a fun weekend! Tell your Mom & Dad Nana says "Hello."
Love & Miss you! Nana
