Belated Birthdays

We loaded up and headed to Knoxville for the weekend to celebrate Nana and Auntie Jamie’s birthdays (a little late).

On Friday, Mommy and Nana spent the day with Sam. While Daddy pressure washed Nana’s fence, they took Sam to Sam’s Club, where he got this balloon.

After they got back to Nana’s house, he explored the guest room and found this candle snuffer that he used as a telephone. He would pick it up and say, “Hello!”

Sam is going to be Darth Vader for Halloween (he kept telling Mommy that he was a Jedi), and it’s only fitting that he have a “light saber”. Here he is showing Mommy his Jedi moves (sorry the video is sideways).

After lunch, Sam went outside to ride his “pedals”.

He found his sidewalk chalk in Nana’s garage and kept filling up his trunk.

Unfortunately, right before they went inside for his nap, Sam ran down the driveway and scuffed both his knees. Nana took him inside and made it better with band-aids.

On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, and Nana went over to Uncle Bryon and Auntie Tina’s house for lunch and to celebrate Nana’s birthday. Sam was excited to show off his new rocking horse that he named Bailey.

Sam was a dancing machine, and he wanted Mommy to dance like he was dancing. Of course, Daddy caught the entire thing on video, and he thought it was hilarious. He wasted no time showing the entire family the video. Mommy doesn’t care…she would do anything for Sam, which includes dancing crazy to make Sam laugh.

Sam has a pair of binoculars that he loves to play with, but he has a special name for them…Noculators.

We all know how scared Daddy is of holding a small child because he’s afraid he’ll break them. Uncle Bryon managed to get him to hold Elizabeth for a few minutes, but he got nervous when she started to move around a little.

Sam wanted to be wrapped up in his Star Wars blanket with his groundhog.

Then, Sam wanted to hold “baby sister”. What a sweet big brother!

While Mommy was holding Elizabeth, Daddy was taking some pictures and managed to capture this one of Elizabeth spitting up!

Auntie Tina found Sam his Darth Vader outfit this weekend, and Sam modeled the helmet for us. We can’t wait to see him in his full outfit and light saber!

Later that evening, they all went out for dinner to celebrate the birthdays, and then went over to Auntie Jamie and Uncle Rich’s house for cake and presents.

I, for one, think that Mommy doesn't do enough crazy dancing. Good for Sam for getting her out on the dance floor!
Sam's Halloween costume is awesome, and that Great Pumpkin cake was just gorgeous!! Think you could put a slice in air-mail???
