1st Birthday!

One year ago today, our family was blessed with the cutest and sweetest boy, Samuel Joseph Haun.

Sam, we are so disappointed that we will miss your 1st birthday party, but we will be thinking of you. After Daddy gets back from Asia, we will come to see you and bring you lots of presents.

Passing The Time

I have to say that this place just isn't the same without Daddy. Our evenings are normally filled with Daddy play time, and without him, Maddux and I have had to make our own fun.

I've been giving my tent a workout. (If you listen really close, you can hear my brother bark in the background.)

Maddux has been chewing on his toys. (Eventually, he got this earless and tailess giraffe's leg ripped open and pulled the stuffing out.)

Since Daddy has been away, Mommy has been doing this new thing with me in the evenings she calls "training". She puts my leash on me, and she walks me around the upstairs carrying treats. Then she stops and says "Sit" like 400 times, and when she doesn't like my response, she says "No" and pushes my butt to the floor. What's that about?

Maddux is being quite the show-off. He follows us around putting his butt on the ground every time Mommy says "Sit". Even though Mommy isn't even talking to him, she gives him treats anyway!

Hmmm...I'm not much on doing what I'm told, but I do love treats. Mommy said I better get used to this because we are going to be "training" every night until she whips me into shape. Well, CRAP! What happened to my leisurely evenings filled with Daddy play time!? Daddy, please come home soon!

We Miss Daddy...Already!

Daddy left on his two week trip to China and Japan this morning, and we miss him already.

Here's a picture of us with him before he left this morning. Notice our sad faces...we didn't want him to go.


After Daddy left, we took our spots at the top of the stairs waiting for him to come home.


Mommy said it would be awhile before he gets back, but we decided to sit and wait anyway. When Daddy does get home, he'll know where to find us.

Bella and I will keep the blog updated regularly over the next couple of weeks so Daddy doesn't miss any of our adventures while he's away.

Snow Bunnies

It's another first in my life...my first snow fall. We got about 2 inches in Woodstock yesterday. When Mommy got home last night, she put on our coats and let us loose in the back yard. I really enjoyed playing in the white fluffy stuff, but I didn't want to stay out too long...snow is cold on my paws!

Maddux and I were hoping it would snow enough so Mommy and Daddy would get a snow day, but unfortunately, the snow turned to rain overnight. Oh well, maybe next time.
