The "D" Word

"D" is how Mommy has to refer to Daddy when he's away; otherwise, Maddux gets very excited every time he hears the word "Daddy". If he hears it, he thinks "D" is home so he'll run to the top of the stairs and wait. Daddy...I mean "D" left for Europe last Thursday so Maddux and I have spent the weekend hanging out with Mommy. Well, most of the weekend since she spent most of Friday evening at Ms. Corinne's house with Ms. Stephanie working on their scrapbooks. Needless to say, Maddux and I were less than thrilled to be locked up in the bathroom (or as we call it "the hole") TWICE in one day. Daddy...I mean "D" (Oops, there goes Maddux to the top of the stairs...I need to learn to type without saying the words out loud) says he thinks there is more talking than scrapbooking going on at "Scrapbook Night", but Mommy always has a good time so it shouldn't matter that she only gets one page done in 4 hours.

Besides spending a lot of time playing with Mommy, Maddux and I managed to catch up on some beauty sleep. Maddux thought it was best for him to sleep with an one eye open and one ear up in case "D" came home early.

Me, I figured if "D" showed up someone would wake me up.

We did get to talk to "D" a couple of times over the weekend. He said it was cool and rainy in Brussels, but he is having a good time. Some people he works with showed him around town so he didn't have to spend the entire weekend at the hotel.

It is getting late so I better get to bed. While we are getting ready for bed, Daddy (oh crap! There goes Maddux to the stairs again.) is getting up to go to work since Brussels is 6 hours ahead of us. If he's 6 hours ahead that means Thursday will get here even faster and he'll be home.

Freeloaders

On their way back from Florida, Mamaw, Papaw, Auntie Jamie, and Uncle Rich stopped in for another visit. Mommy was teasing them by calling them freeloaders...she was just kidding. We love it when they come to visit. Although there is one draw back - we always seem to get a bath right before they come.

After Bella's bath, Mommy tried out a new hairdo on her...pig tails! As you can see, Mommy hasn't quite mastered the art of two pony tail holders. Bella didn't like it much either so Mommy took it down and went back to one. What's next a french braid!

We had another great weekend with the family. Everyone got to play the Wii game again, and I got so excited I tossed my cookies (it was actually sweet potato treat) on Daddy and then he almost threw up, too. Mommy had to clean it off for him since he's a little squeamish. She made a joke about getting the camera (I think she may have been serious, but Daddy would have killed her).

Before we knew it, Sunday was here, and it was time for everyone to head back home to Knoxville. I had some fun with Mamaw before she left when I stole her paper towel. She and Mommy chased me all over trying to get it from me. Of course, Bella tried to get in on the action by stealing it from me, but I was too quick for her.

Mommy was able to get one picture with everyone (except Daddy who was taking the picture) before they left. You'll notice that Auntie Jamie is holding me in the picture...she didn't want to let me go so she put me in the truck to take me with them, but I told her Mommy and Daddy couldn't survive without me.

We are glad everyone made it back home to Knoxville safely, but we hope you come back to see us soon. It's nice having all the attention!

Happy Father's Day!

Bella and I had a great Father’s Day weekend; however, the weekend didn’t start off that great for Mommy and Daddy. On Friday, Mommy had a really bad day at work, and Daddy took a half day vacation to meet the carpet cleaners, who never showed. They said it was expected since it was Friday the 13th, but Bella and I think any day that Daddy spends the day at home with us is a great day.

The weekend got even better when Mamaw, Papaw, Auntie Jamie, and Uncle Rich showed up for a visit, and the cherry on top…they brought us presents! I got a turtle and Bella got a purse and a shoe, but in typical Bella fashion, she kept trying to take my turtle. Why is she such a pest?!

Mommy and Daddy got a Wii last week so everyone got to play games. They spent a lot of time creating the video versions of them called a Mii. Apparently, there are no dog versions in this stupid game. We would like to go on record that we want Nintendo to create a dog version so we can create a DOGii.

We had so much fun that we needed to take a nap with Mamaw.

After our nap, Auntie Jamie thought it would be funny to put our blankets over our heads – relatives can be a pain sometimes.

We were so glad that Papaw was here to get his presents in person. Of course, Bella was right in the middle of all the action, while I preferred the bird’s eye view.

Here's us with Mamaw and Papaw. Everyone wants their picture made with us!

Here’s the card that we gave Papaw.

We loved it so much that we gave it to Daddy, too. We thought the dogs on the front were VERY cute. Do they remind you of two cute dogs you know?

We hope everyone else enjoyed their Father’s Day weekend as much as we did.

Unfortunately, we did get some bad news recently. Our Grandparents(Pop Pop and Mimi) that live in Crossville, TN lost their Pomeranian, Sandy, last weekend. They found out that she had an enlarged heart, but it was diagnosed too late to save her. We want to let them know that we are thinking of them. I’m sure she is up in Dog Heaven playing with Sassy.

Mobile Grooming

Maddux and I had a new experience today...the groomer came to us! Two men showed up, talked to Mommy and Daddy for a minute, and then took me and Maddux into their van. At first, we weren't sure what was going on. Maddux thought we were being dognapped. As soon as they closed the van doors, we knew what was up.

Maddux and I don't care for the grooming process, but the experience was much more tolerable when we were having it done in the driveway of our house. Plus, it only took 45 minutes to cut both of us. Boy, do we look a lot better!

Getting groomed sure does make you hungry...

Do you like my bow?

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing - Photo Books

I don't! I decided that 30 minutes was the limit for the bow and then it needed to be forcibly removed.

Mommy did not do anything to doctor this picture. This was actually what I looked like when she found me right after I got it out. Mommy blames Daddy for this hair catastrophe. He was snoozing on the bed while I was secretly rolling around in my tent getting the bow out. When Mommy showed Daddy the damage, he said I looked like a sheep dog. Unfortunatetly, Mommy put my bow back in.

It is no fair that Maddux gets to sport a bandana, and I have to wear a stupid bow. Sometimes it is a real pain being a girl.

We are so cute!

Maddux looked so different after his haircut that I needed to make sure it was really him and not an imposter. The only way to know for sure is to sniff his butt...yep, it's really him.

We want to thank our friend Evie and her Mom, Melissa, for telling us about Angel Kisses Pet Grooming.
